
My husband Howard and son Ted love a comforting sausage dinner so I knew that this recipe was a must try! Juicy sausages roasted along side sweet apples, onions and a sticky glaze that brings everything together beautifully. It’s the perfect mix of savoury and sweet that I knew my little family would love. An ideal dinner for a cozy family meal or a simple midweek dinner. Below is a video and recipe for you.

Equipment
- Sharp knife
- Chopping board
- Small mixing bowl
- Tablespoon
- Baking tray
Serves 4
Ingredients
- Sausages x 8
- Onion x 1
- Apples x 2 medium eating apples
- Yellow mustard x 2 tbsp or a mustard of your choice
- Honey x 2 tbsp
- Tamari or soy sauce x 2 tbsp
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C or gas mark 6.
- In the small mixing bowl add the yellow mustard or a mustard of your choice, honey and soy sauce.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix these ingredients together and set aside.
- Peel and slice the onions.
- Peel the apple and slice them in half and then into quarters.
- Slice underneath the core and remove it.
- Now slice the apple quarters into thin wedges.
- Pierce the sausages with a fork.
- Place the onions and apples into the baking tray.
- Put the sausages on top.
- Pour over the sauce and toss all of these ingredients together.
- When the oven has preheated put the tray into the oven.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the ingredients are a lovely golden brown colour.
- Remove from the oven.
- Then serve with roast potatoes, jacket potatoes or mash and broccoli or a green of your choice.
- Finally enjoy.

Sticky Sausage and Apple Bake is proof that comfort food doesn’t have to be complicated. With just a few ingredients and one tray you can create a dish that’s hearty and delicious and is a sure to be a crowd pleaser. There were no leftover with this one.
