Since becoming a mother I have become more aware of what we put into our bodies. I know that large amounts of our fruits and vegetables are sprayed with pesticides. These pesticides could cause a number of health issues in many people. I can’t afford to buy all organic foods so instead I have discovered a hack to cleaning my fruit and veggies. Nowadays I add baking soda and vinegar. These ingredients help to rid most of the pesticides from the food. It’s a great way to eat cleaner vegetables without the cost. Below is a video and recipe for you.

Ingredients
- White spirit vinegar x 150mls
- Baking powder x 1 tsp
- Water x enough to fill a bowl or sink
- Fresh fruit and veggies x the ones you just bought from the supermarket!
Method
- Fill the sink or bowl with water.
- Add in the fruits and vegetables.
- Pour in the white spirit vinegar and add in the baking powder.
- Mix round in the water.
- Leave the fruits and vegetables to soak for 15 minutes.
- Drain the water from the sink or bowl.

- Then put them away.

Every time we do a shop or have food delivered to our house I get the vinegar and baking powder ready. By the cleaning the fruits and vegetables this way it helps to keep them longer in the fridge. It also makes me feel better knowing my family are eating healthier fruits and vegetables.
