Warm up your winter days with a festive twist on a classic comfort drink! Today on my 24 Days of Christmas guide, I’m sharing my cosy Ginger Hot Chocolate recipe. It’s a delicious blend of rich chocolate and warming ginger spice. It’s the perfect treat for chilly afternoons, family film nights, or whenever you want a little cup of Christmas cheer. Serves 2

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Tablespoon
  • Teaspoon
  • Mug
  • Saucepan
  • Stirring Spoon

Ingredients for the Hot Chocolate

  • Cashew nuts x 30g
  • Raw cacao powder x 2 – 4 tsps
  • Ground ginger 1 tsp
  • Dates x 2 – 4
  • Coconut water or milk of your choice x 2 mugs

Method for the hot chocolate

  • Soak the cashew nuts in water overnight or soak in hot water for 5 minutes.
  • Put the soaked cashew nuts, raw cacao powder, ground ginger, dates and coconut water or milk of your choice into the blender.
  • Blend all of these ingredients together until smooth.
  • Pour the ingredients into the saucepan and place on the hob.
  • Turn the hob onto high and heat until hot.
  • Once the drink is hot pour into the cups or mugs.
  • Then serve and enjoy.
