This Cajun Spice Flattened Turkey Mince is juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked flat for maximum flavour and crisp edges. the dish proves that turkey mince can be anything but boring. With bold Cajun spices and minimal prep, it’s ideal for busy weeknights while still feeling a little bit special.

Equipment

  • Vegetable peeler
  • Vegetable grater
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Tablespoon
  • Teaspoon
  • Baking sheet or tray
  • Greaseproof paper

Ingredients

  • Turkey mince x 500g
  • Courgette x 1 small
  • Ground flax seed or breadcrumbs x 2 – 4 tbsps
  • Tamari x 2 tbsps
  • Cajun Spice x 1 – 2 tsp
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Peel and grate the courgette.
  • Set aside.
  • Place the mince pork into the large mixing bowl.
  • Add in the grated courgette, Cajun Spice, tamari and ground flax seed.
  • Sprinkle over salt and pepper to taste.
  • Scrunch these ingredients together until everything is well mixed together.
  • Cut two pieces of large greaseproof paper from the roll.
  • Put the mince beef on one piece of the paper.
  • Place the other sheet on top and roll the mince beef out until about 1/2 centimetre thick.
  • Now put the rolled out beef onto the large baking sheet or tray.
  • Put the sheet or tray into the fridge for at least a couple hours or up to overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C or gas mark 6.
  • Place the tray in the oven and bake for about 25 – 30 minutes.
  • The turkey will shrink but it will make it taste so yummy.
  • Cut the turkey into quarters and the into four strips.
  • Serve the pork with chips or a salad.
  • Then enjoy.
