Equipment

  • Large saucepan
  • Zester
  • Sharp knife
  • Chopping board
  • Tablespoon
  • Stirring spoon

Ingredients

  • Black forest fruit x 450g
  • Lemon x 1 (juice and zest)
  • Ground sweet cinnamon x 1 – 2 tsp
  • Chia Seeds x 2 tbsp
  • Maple syrup x 2 tbsp

Method

  • Zest the lemon into the large saucepan.
  • Slice the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into the saucepan.
  • Add in the black forest fruits.
  • Put the pan onto a medium heat on the hob.
  • Stir the ingredients occasionally until the fruit heats through and starts to break down in the pan.
  • When the fruit has softened and breaking up add in the chia seeds, ground sweet cinnamon and maple syrup.
  • Stir these ingredients in.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool.
  • When it has cool transfer the jam from the pan to the glass jar/jars for up to 1 week or freeze for 3 months.
  • Then serve and enjoy.
