Equipment
- Large saucepan
- Zester
- Sharp knife
- Chopping board
- Tablespoon
- Stirring spoon
Ingredients
- Black forest fruit x 450g
- Lemon x 1 (juice and zest)
- Ground sweet cinnamon x 1 – 2 tsp
- Chia Seeds x 2 tbsp
- Maple syrup x 2 tbsp
Method
- Zest the lemon into the large saucepan.
- Slice the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into the saucepan.
- Add in the black forest fruits.
- Put the pan onto a medium heat on the hob.
- Stir the ingredients occasionally until the fruit heats through and starts to break down in the pan.
- When the fruit has softened and breaking up add in the chia seeds, ground sweet cinnamon and maple syrup.
- Stir these ingredients in.
- Remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool.
- When it has cool transfer the jam from the pan to the glass jar/jars for up to 1 week or freeze for 3 months.
- Then serve and enjoy.
