This iced chocolate banana protein smoothie is creamy, rich, naturally sweet, and packed with protein. It’s perfect for busy mornings, post-workout recovery, or an afternoon energy boost. Serves 1

Equipment

  • Sharp knife
  • Chopping board
  • Tray
  • Blender
  • Glass

Ingredients

  • Banana x 1 large
  • Coconut cream or yoghurt x 1 – 2 tbsps
  • Dates x 1 – 2
  • Raw cacao powder x 1 tsp
  • Whey, rice or pea protein x 30g
  • Coconut water or water x 300mls

Method

  • Peel the banana and slice it.
  • Place the slices of banana onto a tray.
  • Put the tray into the freezer for 2 hours or more.
  • When the banana slices are frozen remove them from the tray.
  • Place them into the blender.
  • Add in the coconut cream or yoghurt, dates, raw cacao powder, whey, rice or pea protein and coconut water or water.
  • Blender this ingredients together.
  • Once all the ingredients are smooth pour the contents into a glass.
  • Serve and enjoy.
