Googie’s Kitchen presents 3 Healthy Porridge Breakfasts

Many people love a good breakfast. Personally, as many of you will know I think breakfast it the most important meal of the day. For me, eating porridge is a great way to kick start my day. On a cold winters morning I like nothing more than a big bowl of warm porridge. It helps to keep me full until lunch. As I love to experiment with food so I have invented a variety of recipes and these three are a few of my favourites. Of course I had to share these recipes with you.

What do you like to eat with your porridge or do you just eat it plain? Let me know in the comments below and please don’t forget to like and follow me.

Apple and Blueberry Baked Porridge

My Apple and Blueberry Bake is a great dessert or breakfast. It is very tasty hot or cold and can be served with my Raspberry, Vanilla and Coconut ice cream or with a coconut and maple syrup cream. Whatever way you decide to try it, it will keep the body and mind fit and well.

Basic Porridge Recipe

For me there is nothing quite like a big bowl of warm porridge in the morning. It’s one of the two breakfasts I normally eat to kick start my day. The other breakfast I love is eggs, avocado and spinach and on the weekend we make porridge pancakes. Most of the time I would pick porridge over any other breakfast though.

When I eat a bowl of porridge it gives me a warm feeling that helps me stay full until lunch time. Recently I have noticed that I have a particular basic porridge recipe. So I will make the basic recipe the night before and soak all of the ingredients in oat milk.

When you soak oats overnight, it helps to release the digestive enzymes in the stomach when eaten. Oats can be a hard food for a lot of people to digest. By soaking them you break up the enzymes and making it easier for many peoples’ stomachs. It also makes my morning a lot quicker too.

Chocolate Lavender and Prune Porridge

Porridge is my all time favourite breakfast and I love making different versions. It’s a quick and easy breakfast to make in the morning. Plus to make it even easier in the morning I have started adding key ingredients the night before. So all I have to do in the morning is pop it into a saucepan, add extra water and cook it.

According to the Green Pharmacy Guide to Healing Foods that I have been reading recently, lavender is loaded with antibacterials and anti-inflammatory’s. Lavender is so easy to take internally. The petals and leaves make a great addition to a lot of different foods.

So after reading this I decided to invest in a plant from the garden centre and try it in a variety of foods. As I always eat porridge, I thought this would be a good place to try it. I was pleasantly surprised and very calm after eating this breakfast. So a good way to start the day.

3 Healthy Porridge Breakfasts

3 Vegan Porridge Recipes were delicious and I enjoyed them all. It’s normally only me that eat porridge in the morning. I like to prepare the porridge oats the night before and store them in the fridge. When oats are soaked overnight it helps the body to absorb them better. If food is easier to absorb it means the body can gain more nutrients. And more nutrients equals a healthier body. That makes it a winning situation to me. Also, it means making the porridge in the morning is also very simple and easy. Plus these breakfasts are super tasty too. However you decide to eat these dishes, as always, please enjoy.
