
Nothing beats a rich, comforting bowl of homemade spaghetti bolognaise, and my latest recipe takes it to the next level 🍝✨ This Slow Cooker Beef and Parma Ham Spaghetti Bolognaise is packed with deep, savoury flavour thanks to tender slow-cooked beef, delicious Parma ham, and a beautifully rich tomato sauce. It’s the perfect hearty meal for busy days when you want your slow cooker to do all the hard work while filling your kitchen with incredible aromas. Whether you’re cooking for the family or meal prepping for the week, this comforting classic is guaranteed to satisfy.

Equipment
- Vegetable peeler
- Sharp knife
- Chopping board
- Tablespoon
- Stirring spoon
Ingredients
- Mince beef x 500g
- Parma ham x 4 – 6 slices
- Onions x 1 large
- Garlic x 2 cloves
- Carrots x 1
- Courgette x 1
- Tomatoes x 1 400g tins
- Chicken stock x 200mls
- Tomato puree x 2 tbsp
- Tamari x 2 tbsps
- Bay leaves x 2
- Fresh rosemary x 2 sprigs
- Fresh thyme x 2 sprigs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pasta x 300g
- Basil x 1 handful
- Parmesan or mature cheddar (optional)
Method for the Bolognese sauce
- Start by peeling and grating the carrot and courgette.
- Peel and slice the onions and the garlic.
- Put these ingredients into the slow cooker pot.
- Slice the Parma ham into strips.
- Place the strips into the slow cooker pot.
- Add in the mince beef and break it up.
- Pour over the tinned tomatoes.
- Next pour the the stock into the tin and swirl it around.
- Then pour that into the post.
- Add in the tomato puree and tamari.
- Pull down on the sprigs of rosemary and thyme.
- Chop the leaves and add these into pot.
- Sprinkle over salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix these ingredients together.
- Put the lid on the slow cooker pot.
- Turn the pot onto high for 3 – 4 hours or on low for 5 – 6 hours.
- Before the end of the cooking time add in the basil and stir it in until it wilts down.
- Once it wilts down turn the slow cooker off.
- Cook the pasta as per the packet instructions.
- Then add to the sauce.
- Finally serve with the parmesan and enjoy.
