Tender pork that is cooked low and slow with sweet apples, honey and a touch of mustard to create a rich, savoury sauce that’s perfect for a cosy family dinner. Equipment
- Sharp knife
- Chopping board
- Vegetable peeler
- Tablespoon
Ingredients
- Pork loin steaks x 500g
- Onion x 1
- Carrots x 1
- Apples x 2 – 4
- Honey x 1 tbsp
- Mustard x 1 tbsp
- Chicken stock x 200 mls
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Peel and slice the onion.
- Put the onion slices in the slow cooker pot.
- Next peel and slice the carrots.
- Also put this into the pot.
- Now peel the apples.
- Cut the apples in half and then into quarters.
- Remove the core by slicing under it at a right angle.
- Then cut the quarters in half.
- Place them into the pot.
- Add in the honey, mustard and chicken stock.
- Sprinkle over salt and pepper to taste.
- Put the lid on the pot.
- Turn the pot onto high for 2 – 3 hours or on low for 5 – 6 hours.
- Once cooked serve with mash or rice and a green of your choice.
- Finally enjoy.
