3 Vegan Smoothie Recipes

3 Vegan Smoothie Recipes

As I have mentioned many times before breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. I always find smoothies a very filling way to start my day. Although I don’t eat them every day as the can be quite sugary. The smoothies below are packed with fibre which is a great way to kick start the digestive system. I quite often put fruit into my smoothies too. When fruit is broken down in a blender it turns into sugar. Therefore I’m always cautious about using fruit but I do enjoy a smoothie every so often.

Do you love a smoothie and what is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below and please don’t forget to like and follow me.

Gifts from Grandpa is my NEW recipe book – out NOW and available to buy on Amazon for only £19.99. Plus £1 from the sale of each book will go to Crisis the homeless charity.

Warm Roasted Chestnut Ginger Smoothie

Since starting my blog six years ago I have learnt a lot about food and I continue to learn. That is one of my favourite parts of writing a blog is the learning. In the past few years I have been looking at Ayurvedic medicine. Ayurvedic medicine believes that food is medicine and medicine is food. For thousands of years Ayurvedic medicine has always used food to heal the body.

It’s not just food that helps to heal the soul but the way it’s cooked. Ayurveda says that in summer we should eat foods that are cooler especially when it’s very hot outside. Then in winter we should eat foods that are warmer. Most people think that smoothies are naturally cold but I have started to heat mine up as the weather is cold now. For the record they are just as delicious warm if not better. For me, this was a yummy way to heat me up for the cold winter day ahead.

Chocolate Cherry Lavender Smoothie

Now that summer is on the way I’m getting ready to pull out those delicious morning smoothies again. During winter I’m much more of a porridge or egg kind of person. I prefer warming foods for all my meals during the colder weather. However, when summer starts knocking on the door, I like to think about smoothies and salads.

As part of my lavender month I thought I would try making a smoothie with lavender in. A little while ago I made a Choc Cherry Smoothie and I decided to make a few changes. Then I added lavender to the breakfast drink as well. The lavender gave this drink a little extra flavour and I thought it was delicious. Although maybe an acquired taste. Let me know what you think once you try it.

Creamy Sunshine Apricot and Almond Smoothie

Every so often I need a glass and a half of creamy sunshine. If I’m slightly peckish in the afternoon I will make myself a smoothie to help me get through to dinner. This smoothie is my quick sunny afternoon snack stop and it’s so easy.

If you read my blog regularly you will know how I love to experiment with ingredients. These were staring me in the face when I opened the fridge. I decided to throw them all together in a smoothie. The results were amazing and I just had to share this simple smoothie with you.

3 Vegan Smoothie Recipes are always so tasty. They are easy to prepare and blend. I enjoy making my smoothies the day before and then I warm them on the hob the next day. By putting the smoothie in the fridge I help food to become sprouted. Sprouted food is easier for the body to digest. Plus warmer foods especially in winter are better for the digestive system too. If you don’t have enjoy time in the morning then these are still good cold too. However you decide to drink these smoothies, as always, please enjoy. Thank you. xxx
