Slow Cooker Smokey Pork and Potato Stew

Slow Cooker Smokey Pork and Potato Stew

When I read reports about meat versus plant based diets most media assumes that a plant based diet is better for us. Nowadays there are lots of studies that suggest eating a plant based foods is better for our health. The media will often report and suggest that it’s better being a vegan. It might be the case for many people that they are happier eating a plant based diet.

However, what the media and these studies don’t look at is lifestyle and diet. The articles will often not talk about the participants in these studies. They won’t go into detail about what people taking part are eating or how active they are as well. Many headlines are there to shock the readers. It spreads fear and panic. Over the past few years, it seems that pork has had a lot of bad press.

Therefore I’m putting pork back on our menu and back on my blog too. Pork actually has many health benefits and it’s one of the only foods that contain selenium. Selenium is an important mineral that can help the body to fight infection. While I agree to much pork wouldn’t be good but to much of any food isn’t good either. So below is a delicious stew that can be eaten any season and for any reason. We love it and we hope you do too.

Slow Cooker Smokey Pork and Potato Stew

Slow Cooker Smokey Pork and Potato Stew was a huge hit in our house. My husband Howard and son Ted are big fans of pork. Honestly one of there favourite meals is probably sausage and chips. Although if I say pork for dinner I normally don’t hear any complaints from them. The best part about this meal is you can make big batch and freeze any leftovers. All of the ingredients in this dish are freezable so you can freeze it for another occasion. However you decide to eat this dish, as always, please enjoy. Thank you xxx
