Slow Cooker Cajun Spice Prawn Noodle Soup

Equipment

  • Sharp knife
  • Chopping board
  • Teaspoon
  • Tablespoon

Ingredients

  • Uncooked prawns or cooked prawns x 500g
  • Spring onions x 1 bunch (8 – 10)
  • Red pepper x 1
  • Carrot x 1
  • Green beans x 2 handfuls
  • Tamari or soy sauce x 2 tbsps
  • Paprika x 1 tsp
  • Smoked paprika x 1 tsp
  • Cayenne pepper x 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic granules x 1 tsp
  • Onion granules x 1 tsp
  • Dried oregano x 1 tsp
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chicken or vegetable stock x 600mls

Method

  • Slice the tops and the bottoms from the spring onions.
  • Now slice the flesh into half centimetre pieces.
  • Peel and slice the carrot into batons.
  • Cut the top from the red pepper.
  • Remove the core and the stalk.
  • Slice and dice the flesh.
  • Put these ingredients into the slow cooker pot along with the green beans
  • Pour over the chicken or vegetable stock and tamari or soy sauce.
  • Sprinkle over the smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic granules, onion granules, dried oregano and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Put the lid on the pot.
  • Turn the cooker onto high for 2 – 3 hours or on low for 5 – 6 hours.
  • 15 – 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time remove the lid and put the uncooked prawns into the pot.
    • If using cooked prawns add these in at the end.
  • Next cook the noodles as per the packet instructions.
  • Once the uncooked prawns are pink turn the slow cooker off.
  • Serve the soup with the noodles.
  • Then enjoy.
