Mixed Berry Sorbet

My new Mixed Berry Sorbet is a fruity dessert that’s bursting with natural flavour and it’s the perfect treat! It’s made with a delicious blend of juicy berries and simple ingredients. Plus it’s wonderfully smooth, vibrant and ideal for warm days or whenever you’re craving something light and sweet.

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Blender
  • Tablespoon
  • Shallow container

Ingredients

  • Frozen or fresh mixed berries x 500g
  • Maple syrup x 60 – 90 mls (depending on how sweet you like it
  • Water x 120 mls
  • Lemon or lime juice x 1 – 2 tbsps

Method

  • Place the berries and water in a saucepan and simmer gently for 8-10 minutes until the fruit has softened.
  • Leave to cool completely.
  • Blend until smooth (you can strain the mixture if you prefer a seedless sorbet).
  • Stir in the maple syrup and lemon or lime juice, then taste and adjust the sweetness.
  • Chill overnight in the fridge.
  • Freeze in a shallow container, stirring every 30-60 minutes for the first 3-4 hours if you don’t have an ice cream maker. This helps reduce ice crystals.
  • Once frozen serve and enjoy.
